Dr Jane Worlding's Professional profile
Before studying medicine Dr Jane Worlding studied Physiology and Biochemistry at the University of Sheffield graduating in 1985, she then worked as a medical researcher in the Department of Gastroenterology and Nutrition at the Royal Hallamshire Hospital before starting at Southampton University Medical School. She graduated in September 1990.
Her initial training was within general medical specialities and she began specialist registrar training in Oncology in 1995, gaining her MRCP in 1996 and FRCR in 2000. Dr Worlding gained her Specialist Training Certificate in Oncology in 2001 and took up her first consultant post in September of that year.
She is currently an investigator in a number of national/international clinical trials. Dr Worlding is able to offer a portfolio of treatments not routinely available on the NHS such as Cetuximab, Avastin, Sutent & Zometa.
All cancers (private and NHS) are discussed within a multidisciplinary setting and are dealt with according to internationally agreed guidelines. She is happy to offer a second opinion or further explanation in relation to cancer and is also able to offer a medico-legal service/expert witness service.
