Linford Wood Medical Centre Buckingham to Bristol for charity run
The Living Well coordinator at Linford Wood Medical Centre is preparing to run in a half marathon this weekend, in a bid to raise funds for Penny Brohn Cancer Care.
Sally Siddique, 47, will be travelling 100 miles to take part in the Bristol half marathon on 21st September. She took up the challenge after she started joined the team at Linford Wood Medical Centre in Milton Keynes, where she works with the centre’s cancer patients, providing holistic support including relaxation therapy, reflexology and acupuncture.
Sally said: “I’m really looking forward to taking part in this half marathon in Bristol, as Penny Brohn Cancer Care is one of the official charities of the race.
“Bristol is where Penny Brohn’s National Centre is based, which provides residential courses and non-residential services to support people living with cancer and their families.”
Sally added: “The charity’s partnership with Cancer Partners UK means our radiotherapy and chemotherapy patients can access the support within many of our centres, alongside their treatment.”
Emma Smith, fundraiser at Penny Brohn Cancer Care, said: “We are so grateful to Sally for fundraising for us. We need to raise £2million a year to keep our doors open and continue to provide our vital services for people with cancer; without people like Sally, we simply wouldn’t be able to do it.”
