The UK Radiation Oncology Conference (UKRO) which was held at the East Midlands Conference Centre in Nottingham from 21 until 23 October 2013 was attended by a five-strong team from GenesisCare.
The three day multi-disciplinary scientific conference provided updates and the latest information from leading industry speakers relevant to clinical oncologists, therapeutic radiographers, radiotherapy physicists, clinical radiobiologists, clinical technologists, dosimetrists and oncology nurses.
Around 350 delegates attended the bi-annual conference, and Christine Porter, Business Development Manager with GenesisCare, said: “The conference provided a great opportunity to share ideas and network with other clinicians working in the delivery of cancer care. As Cancer Partners UK grows, so too is the interest we attract from those wanting to know more about us and we had a busy three days meeting and engaging with a steady flow of delegates to our exhibition stand.”
As well as the exhibition - which also had stands hosted by Elekta, College of Radiographers, Philips, Varian and Oncology Systems Limited - the conference programme featured high profile keynote speakers, special interest parallel sessions, short presentations from peer reviewed abstract submissions and extensive poster presentations.
