GenesisCare Team at the Great South Run
A team of 21 employees from GenesisCare will be on the starting line of the world’s leading 10 mile running event, taking place around historic Portsmouth and Southsea, on Sunday 23 October.
GenesisCare is the largest private provider of radiotherapy services in Australia and the UK has a unique partnership with the charity Penny Brohn UK, who provide a ‘Living Well’ service which offers support and holistic care for patients being treated across the GenesisCare network in the UK; to help them live well with cancer.
The majority of the team are based at the UK head office in Waterlooville, and they will join around 25,000 runners of all abilities, hoping to complete the 10 mile challenge.
Paul McPartlan, GenesisCare’s UK Manager comments:
“Team GenesisCare are a fantastic bunch and we are all looking forward, albeit with a slight trepidation, to taking on this challenge for such as great cause. Every day in our centres, we see the positive difference that Penny Brohn Cancer Care makes to the lives of our patients and their friends and families. I hope people will support our fundraising efforts and help us smash our target.”
The 10 mile route of the Great South Run takes in iconic landmarks such as the Spinnaker Tower and Portsmouth Historic Dockyard, and runners are kept motivated by bands on the run, “boost zones” and thousands of cheering spectators.
