Oxford-based Consultant Oncologist, Dr Shiroma De Silva-Minor recently completed the 36th Virgin Money London Marathon 2017.
Running in memory of her brother, she undertook the challenge for Save The Children and has so far, raised over £19,000*. The charity strives to give children a brighter future and was one that her late brother was a great supporter of.
Dr Shiroma De Silva-Minor
Having qualified in 1995, Dr De Silva-Minor trained in oncology at national centres of excellence such as the Royal Marsden and the Royal Free Hospitals. She undertook a fellowship at the world-renowned oncology centre in Toronto, Canada, The Princess Margaret Hospital, where her research was award winning. Dr De Silva-Minor specialises in the oncological management of breast cancers. Her areas of specialist interest include triple negative breast cancers, HER2 positive disease, BRCA mutation carriers, male breast cancers; and lifestyle strategies in reducing breast cancer recurrence.
