Resolve to make breast health a priority in 2017

breast health

Whether your new year brings resolutions about fitness, diet, mindfulness, family, hobbies or new horizons; taking time out to think about your own wellbeing is never a bad thing.

Breast Health

Breast health is an area that many women sadly overlook, especially around busy times of the year like Christmas. However, incorporating a regular self-examination should be a priority for all women, as part of their fight against breast cancer.

Let’s face it, who better to understand changes or abnormalities in our breasts than ourselves?

Unlike many cancers, breast lumps are often detectable on the surface due to their very nature; in fact, around 90% are found by women themselves. This means that you have a real opportunity to take swift early action if anything is detected.

The Breast Health Practice

The Breast Health Practice has produced a free self-examination guide, explaining how to check your breast area. Download your copy here.

For females in the UK, breast is the most common cancer with around 54,800 cases diagnosed in 2014; however, 78% survive for 10 or more years. Research published by Cancer Research UK* states that when diagnosed at its earliest stage, around all women will survive their disease for five or more years.

Lifestyle factors are also hugely important to remain fit, well and healthy; so incorporating a regular check when taking a bath or shower and understanding any lumps and bumps is an excellent first line of defence in cancer detection and prevention.

The Breast Health Practice is a private breast cancer diagnostic and treatment service, using state of the art technologies, renowned medical professionals; and offers swift answers to restore your peace of mind.

If you are concerned about your breasts or looking for private breast cancer treatments in Milton Keynes, Bedfordshire or Northampton, our centre is in a convenient location, has free parking and an exceptional range of facilities.
