GenesisCare is pleased to be supporting Eagle Radio's Local Heroes Awards 2014, which celebrates Surrey and Hampshire's community champions.
Since launching a private radiotherapy service in Guildford’s St Martha Oncology Centre last year, GenesisCare learned of the local radio station’s annual awards which recognises local heroes across ten categories. These include Teaching, Young Person, Music and Arts, Lifetime Achievement, Neighbour, Volunteering/Charities, Military/Emergency Services, Inspiration in Business and Sports Award, as well as a Special Award category.
GenesisCare’s centre manager, Jacqui Dorney, says: “When we opened our centre in Guildford we became the first private provider in the world to deliver advanced, highly targeted and faster radiotherapy using the very latest machine, known as the Versa HD. This is just one example of GenesisCare’s passion to transform the delivery of cancer care in the UK.
“We know that sport and fitness play an important part in leading a healthy lifestyle which can help reduce the risk of cancer. Exercise also plays a valuable role – both physically and emotionally - in patients’ recovery, and we’re delighted to be supporting the Sports Award of Eagle Radio’s Local Heroes 2014.”
Click here if you want to nominate someone who you think deserves local hero status, and in September they could be enjoying an evening at an award ceremony at Guildford’s G Live.
The Sports Award is open to professional and amateur individuals, school teams and clubs from the local area who have achieved sporting success. Nominations close on Wednesday 9th July 2014.
