Quality and governance

GenesisCare Advisory Board

GenesisCare is registered and regulated by the Care Quality Commission and is monitored in accordance to compliance with the Essential Standards of Quality and Safety under the Health & Social Care Act 2008 and associated regulations. This applies to all the centres built, owned and operated by GenesisCare in the UK.

The Interim General Manager for the UK is John Allen, Executive Manager - International​ who is the “Responsible Individual” and is supported by the Senior Management Team, Medical Director and the CQC registered Managers for each centre.

GenesisCare in the UK has robust mechanisms, systems and processes in place at a local operational and corporate level to assess and monitor compliance to regulatory and clinically recognised practice guidelines from national bodies including the Society of Radiotherapy, NICE (National Institute of Clinical Excellence) and under the regulatory body IRMER (Ionising Radiation (Medical Exposure) Regulations.

GenesisCare is accountable for ensuring the safe clinical and operational practices are implemented and maintained in all centres. This includes the recruitment and ongoing development of appropriately trained, qualified and skilled staff for the delivery of high standards of clinically effective care. It evaluates and undertakes regular audit of compliance and clinical practice in order to ensure that the delivery of standards of accurate treatment, quality assurance and adherence to policy.

GenesisCare in the UK operates a Clinical Leaders Forum to provide appropriate clinical advice, support and guidance to the Senior Management team at all levels of the clinical interface. This forum comprises leading clinicians from around the UK with different specialities and expertise.

Our Compliance Officer (responsible for implementing our anti-bribery & corruption policy) is John Allen.

Patient satisfaction

The feedback from patients is vitally important to GenesisCare. Opportunities to learn from, maintain and improve the patient experience can only be achieved from listening to patients and their families and being open to ongoing change and development.

The patient satisfaction questionnaire is given to all patients who are invited to answer questions about ther experience and provide additional comments if desired.

The questionnaire supports GenesisCare's ongoing review of patient feedback via correspondence from patients and their families as well as centre quality visits and discussions with pateints, which are regularly carried out by members of the management team.
